Discover the distinction of becoming a Fellow of the European Renal Association (FERA)!

The Distinguished Fellow of the ERA (FERA) is an esteemed honour awarded by the ERA Council to current ERA members. This recognition is presented during the General Assembly, highlighting the exceptional contributions to the ERA community and the outstanding work in clinical and research fields related to nephrology.

Candidates for the title of FERA must have excelled in the practice of renal medicine, medical science or medical literature, must be an active ERA member with at least five years seniority and must meet the specific requirements:

  • Board certification in nephrology or equivalent certification
  • ERA activity (at least one):
    • Chair or board member of one of the ERA Committees/Bodies
    • Editor and Editorial board member of NDT or CKJ
      OR
    • Author of 10 abstracts accepted for presentation at the ERA Congress (first or senior author) in the past five years
  • Publications: At least ten articles published in peer/reviewed international journals in the past 5 years
  • Public service: contribution to the development of nephrology
